What is Single-Session Therapy?
Is there one thing that you would like to focus on and, rather than commit to weekly sessions, you want to have a therapy session to speak about that one thing? Or maybe you have a relational pattern that you are aware of and need communication pointers on how to change it?
The session starting question is always ‘what would you like to achieve by the end of the session?’ And then, straight away, we explore if this is achiveable.
The session is then conducted in a similar way to continual sessions, i.e. if we discuss psycho-education, such as communication skills or grief models, I will email these to you after your session has ended.
The session provides space for reflection, digestion (of learning) and discussion of any actions which you may take going forward. The time can also bring insight into patterns.

Single-Session Therapy may be chosen due to being time poor; not having the finances for weekly sessions; where a lifestyle does not permit regular therapy or if there is a feeling that a single-session would be enough.
I have worked successfully with individuals and couples using Single-Session Therapy around the globe (excludes USA and Canada due to licencing laws).
For you to have a space, or for both of you to have a space if you are coming as a couple or two, where you feel safe and secure, and where you have a stable computer / telephone connection.
Of course! If you find benefit and want to book further single-sessions you can book in exactly the same way as you did your first session. This may be straight away, or it may be many months / years down the line.
There is also an option of weekly therapy sessions, yet this would be subject to availability and, if you required this, I would let you know of your approximate wait time.
Please note: As these are single-sessions, additional single-sessions would be subject to my own availability,
The session fee is the same as weekly therapy sessions:
Individuals – 60 minutes – £60
Couples / twos – 60 minutes – £80
Please click here and my availability calendar will open up.
I complete my availability approximately a week in advance. So, if I do not currently have a single-session available which suits you, do check back.
Note: I do not accept email enquiries or hold a waiting list for Single-Session Therapy.
Once you book a session, I will email you a Single-Session Therapy contract which is similar to my main contract, i.e. for you to complete name(s), address, doctor details, date of birth and details of any medication. This will be emailed to you along with a General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) document.
If you would like to enquire about a weekly appointment, please fill in your details here and click ‘send message’.
Alternatively, you can call, text or WhatsApp 07941 305511.
If I am not available, please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I am able.
Please know that my email account and voicemail are password protected and only accessible by me.
Note: If your telephone number is unfamiliar to me, and you do not leave a message, I will not call you back as I am unaware of your individual situation.
I work in Private Practice Monday – Thursday and I will get back to you within these times.
“In less than two hours, you can get a tune-up and oil change, a tax refund, or a massage—and maybe a… new outlook on life. That’s the idea behind single-session therapy (SST), a method of counseling in which you show up, talk, listen, learn and leave, possibly forever.”
